A new male lion stalks the back range at Werribee as he waits out quarantine.
This is the new male lion (his name is Sheru) at Werribee’s Open Range Zoo. He is still in quarantine, so he is roaming the rear range of the lion enclosure, able to see, hear, and smell the females in the front range. The females are just as interested in him.
This was shot with the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II at 200mm, f/2.8, 1/2000, ISO 125, on the Sony A1. This is a heavy crop from the original, showing you less than a quarter of the original frame.
